Alexandra Reviews Sleeping Beauty by New York City Ballet

If you're looking for a spectacular array of colors, costumes and scenery, this is your show. Sleeping Beauty performed by the New York City Ballet in the New York State Theater is a beautiful display of classic ballet. This show is as "professional" as you get in ballet, and for all those fairy tale lovers, it's for you.

I would not recommend Sleeping Beauty, the ballet, for anyone who is antsy, primarily because it lasts for two hours and thirty minutes. I loved the costumes and the orchestra were great, which made the fairy tale that much more believable. But, the show had no dialogue -- being a ballet -- and the twirls were strikingly similar. I am more of a fan of Modern Ballet, so I guess that's my bias.

But never the less, I would suggest everyone to give the ballet a whirl because you never know -- you may just end up loving it.
