Queen Golder Queen Reviews Apollo Amateur Night at the Apollo Theater ![]() The thunderous beat of music, the aura of the past, and the celebration of talent was the spirit that exudes from the Amateur night at the Apollo Theater. This show honored the great stars of the past by introducing rising talent who tried to see their full potential. From start to finish, the show was flawless in its manner and its charm. The talent is not only surprisingly well developed, but it enhances the beauty and greatness of the Apollo Theater. The show opened with an upbeat performance. Then, several audience members were picked to participate in a soul train line where they could showcase their own talent. Afterward, the show began. Amateurs came out to perform, but if the crowd yelled out a string of "boos", then the amateur was iced off the stage by the tap dancing executioner. Amateurs who lasted on stage and pleased the audience, moved onto the next round. At the end, the amateur that got the most exciting and enthusiastic round of applause, won. The great thing about this show, was its ability to unite an entire community by providing three hours of pure entertainment. The audience forgot about the stress and anxiety of life and was able to truly enjoy themselves. Not only did the audience connect with the amateurs, they connected with one another as well. Although some amateurs were not as good as others, they were still free to express themselves in any manner they saw fit and just have fun. This show had as much depth as it did entertainment. |
