Timothy Greenfield-Sanders exhibit When walking into this gallery you can tell that everyone had his or hers own "expectation". I remember seeing men and women looking at these pictures, astonished, surprised and somewhat excited like some great revelation had happened. A fat older man came waddling in with his girl friend, and would, like a real person. With all the publicity for Timothy Greenfield Sanders's show my mind consequentially fantasied on the show and what it would be like. I always thought that porn stars (if I ever saw one) would be cool obvious to pick out from in a crowd. I like people would be like. Each of the twelve the porn star is represented by two enormous photographs, one with their clothes on the other nude. Some headshots and others full body. In both, the porn star tries to keep the same pose. All have the same gray background. Like the kind of set you get in elementary school for your school image. What I liked most about these pictures was precisely that they were real. It did not matter that more than half had some kind of plastic surgery. For once you have a human connection with people who are rarely seen for who they are. One headshot of a woman looks very normal and natural; she has small breasts. This stood out because in most of the other shots of women and men, they all try to put on a sexy look in the nude. The second photo is of Ron Jeremy, a male porn star who you will recognize. In the photo of him in clothes he gives a goofy, sarcastic smile, while in the nude, even though he has little beauty to give to the viewer, he tries his best to stand tall and suck in his gut. He looks down to the viewer with his chin high and eyelids almost closed. His "sexy" look is comical though as I looked around at other people they seemed disinterested in him. Another of a female porn star, nude, looked to have spent an hour on her makeup. She had her head slightly down as she coyly looked up, with hair was down; this photo was my exact expectation of a female porn star. The contrasting photo of her looked like another person. Her head was now up and she looked like she was trying to be tough. She had little makeup on her that looked crude. Her shirt was baggy. She looked insecure with being herself while the nude photo told a whole over story. This show was one that brings strange types like men who will talk about which girls in the photos they have seen in videos to their girlfriends, who will try to act like they care. Nevertheless, even if it takes a whole lot of egging on to get a prude over to the gallery people should see this show. Even though you may not be one for porn, this show can open your eyes to how human nature plays a big part when someone is asked to expose his or her self, and how they act reveals something about how that individual thinks they should act and look to be "sexy."
